✨ About This Series

The Sweater Series is a small-group, skill-building knitting class designed to help you understand sweater fabric, construction, and technique—so you can knit sweaters with confidence.

Using The Sweater Sampler from The Sweater Workshop, we’ll work through a curated sequence of techniques that form the foundation of great sweater knitting. This series focuses on understanding how fabric behaves, how techniques affect fit, and how to make informed choices for future sweater projects.

This is a guided, hands-on series with time for questions, troubleshooting, and cozy community stitching.

• Dates: Saturdays, January 31 – February 28

• Time: 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM

• Length: 5 weeks

• Self-Led Community Stitch Week: Saturday, February 21
  (No formal instruction this week—open stitch time and peer support)

Week 1 – Foundations

• Sweater construction overview

• Gauge swatches

• Yarn and needle selection

• Cable cast-on

• Garter stitch, stockinette, and ribbing

Week 2 – Color & Features

• Changing colors

• Introduction to colorwork

• Belts and pockets

Week 3 – Shaping & Texture

• Increases and decreases (including short rows)

• Textured stripes

Week 4 – Self-Led Community Stitch

• Knitted i-cord

• Two-color knitting

Week 5 – Finishing Techniques

• Lace

• Multiple methods of casting off

• Confident beginners ready to grow

• Intermediate knitters wanting a deeper understanding of sweater techniques

• Anyone who wants to knit sweaters with more intention and confidence

You do not need to have knit a sweater before.

Limited to 6 knitters
This small-group format allows for personalized guidance in a relaxed, supportive setting.

💸 Pricing

$135 for the full 5-week series

✨ All materials are included, including yarn and needles needed for the sampler work.
Optional: You can bring your own copy of Jaqueline Fee's The Sweater Workshop or purchase one at the shop.

By the end of the series, you will have a sampler of all techniques covered, and the knowledge and confidence to knit a sweater!
